Volleyball Journey Controls: PC, Console and Mobile
Quick answer
- PC: Left Click bumps or spikes; E sets or jump sets; Q dives or blocks.
- Console: Use R2/RT, B/Circle and L2/LT for the same three action pairs.
- Context: Your grounded or airborne state changes which contact the shared input produces.
The three input pairs
Volleyball Journey controls share inputs between ground and air actions. Learn each pair together: the button tells you the action family, while being airborne changes the contact. For example, E is a set on the ground and a jump set in mid-air. Jumping does not turn E into a spike.
| Grounded | In mid-air | PC | Console |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bump | Spike | Left Click | R2 / RT |
| Set | Jump Set | E | B / Circle |
| Dive | Block | Q | L2 / LT |
Choose a contact before pressing
For a receive, approach the incoming ball and keep the grounded bump in mind. When a teammate is preparing to attack, use the setting family instead. At the net, an airborne Q is the block action; a grounded Q is a dive. Those distinctions explain why the same key can seem to do something different during an otherwise similar rally.
Avoid pressing every contact input together. Choose the job first, then the action that serves it. A controlled receive gives the next player something to work with; a set should be intended for a teammate. Use the PC controls guide for a keyboard practice sequence, or console controls for the controller labels.
Custom bindings and older instructions
The game advertises customizable bindings. If you have changed them, your saved mapping takes priority over the defaults in this reference. Compare the intended action with the active binding before treating a missed contact as an input fault.
Older guides may place setting on Q and diving on Ctrl. The captured official layout above uses E for setting and Q for diving or airborne blocking. Keep the current pairs separate from an old control habit. If the action still differs from your intention, controls troubleshooting separates a stale key, the wrong ground/air context and an actual missing input.
Mobile supports the same volleyball responsibilities, but these keyboard and controller labels are not a touch-button map. Use the mobile controls guide to prepare touch play without translating a PC key into a guessed screen gesture.
